Seventeen members of the Twinning Association went over to France for the mini weekend on 25th April.  We were very lucky with the weather, it was warm and sunny all weekend ending in a spectacular thunderstorm whilst waiting for the ferry at Dieppe.

We were met in the village square of St Martin des Besaces by our French hosts and taken to their homes where we would stay for the next two nights.  On the Saturday we had a very interesting walk through a local forest - covered with Cowslips.  We had a picnic (more like a banquet) at lunchtime in a hunting lodge and sat outside in brilliant sunshine.  That evening we all gathered at the village hall for yet more food and drink!

We left our hosts on Sunday morning and our party – in their various vehicles – had the day a leisure before boarding the ferry home on Sunday evening.  Some had a picnic on the beach, others headed for Honfleur – but everyone agreed it had been a most enjoyable weekend. Sally Hawkins
