Who are we?

We are a local, Mid-Sussex, organisation twinned with (linked to) a country parish in northern France. On this side of the channel, the Parish of Slaugham is comprised of the four villages - Slaugham, Handcross, Warninglid and Pease Pottage.

Although, by parochial boundaries, Staplefield is not included in the parish, it was decided, some years ago, that the local geographical and social' grouping of the villages made it a sensible inclusion.

In France, the main village in their parish is called St Martin des Besaces and the other, smaller village is La Ferriere au Doyen, a few kilometres east of St Martin. It is these 'bits-of-parishes' etc. which, when using them in full, give us the rather long and complicated title:- Slaugham/Staplefield - St Martin/La Ferriere Twinning Association. As you will have seen at the top of the page we tend to just use 'Slaugham Twinning Association'.
